Pacifica Shipping schedule update

 Dear Customer,

Since 1985, Pacifica Shipping has remained committed to supporting the N.Z domestic supply chain with a dedicated coastal service connecting key North and South Island regions. 

 As an independent coastal shipping operator, we continuously update our schedule to adapt to prevailing market conditions, ensure alignment with customer demand, and maintain a sustainable operating model.

 In line with this, the MV Takutai Chief (MVTC), which currently operates on a fixed-day weekly service calling Auckland, Lyttelton, Tauranga, and Marsden Point, is expected to phase out of service on 26 August 2024.  Pacifica will continue to deploy MV Moana Chief (MVMC), adding Tauranga and Marsden Point to the existing Auckland and Lyttelton weekly dates.

 Summary of changes:

• MVMC updated fixed-day weekly rotation commencing 25 August departing LYT : 

            AKL (Thu) → LYT (Sat) → MAP (Tue) → TRG (Wed) → AKL (Thu) 

• The phase-out of MVTC allows MVMC to lay-up for one week at Lyttelton for annual maintenance from 18th  – 24th August. This will facilitate a shorter lay-up period in January 2025 ; from two weeks to one week. 

• During the lay-up period MVTC will call Timaru in addition to normal schedule on her final voyage as below :  

• Opportunity for additional weekly sailings from Auckland to Lyttelton supported by alternative services.
